Mamalamai Tokou Do Tadau Tagazo

Rough translation of the above post title - "Let's come together and celebrate on this festive occasion!"

A few more days before the Pesta Gawai and Kaamatan at Butterworth. I'm excited because this is the first event that I helped to organise. All preparation for the charity dinner is done and all that left is for the day to come.

Traditional costume checked. Practice for the traditional dance checked. Makeup and hairdo booking of course checked!..haha.

In order to support the event, I've also join the traditional costume contest and I'll be wearing the Rungus tribe attire.

The indoor stage banner is designed and printed by Percetakan Nasional Malaysia Berhad. I would highly recommend this company because their service and pricing are definitely awesome.

One of the cultural performances will be Magunatip or Bamboo Dance. It is one of the most popular traditional dances from Sabah. We're getting ready for our final practice here.

The trophies for the traditional singing and costume contest. Since I'm in the traditional costume contest, I might have the chance to get me one of those shiny trophies..Haha..

In my next post, I will be posting on the event night.

Tinggi-tinggi Gunung Kinabalu
Tinggi lagi sayang sama kamu
Biru biru hujung Kinabalu tengok dari jauh
Hati saya rindu…

So it’s been, I don’t know….about 8 years??, since I Iast celebrate Kaamatan in my hometown. Yes, hati saya rindu…I miss Kaamatan festival.

Apart from organizing futsal and badminton tournaments, for the first time GAB will be hosting Gawai and Kaamatan fundraising dinner. The event will take place on 1st May 2017 from 6pm to 10.30pm at Creative Ballroom, Butterworth. The profit from the event will be given to support orphans and children in shelter.

There will be cultural performances from Sabah and Sarawak, singing and traditional attire competition. There will also be lucky draw with prizes from our kind supporters.
